Availability of the SongShow Plus Mobile Control Apps
Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:
This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus using SongShow Mobile Control.
NOTE: SongShow Mobile Control 1.0 and Mobile Control 2.0 have been replaced with the Mobile Control (PWA).
For SongShow Mobile Control (PWA)
Devices Supported:
The Mobile Control (PWA) app should work an any modern browser on a desktop or mobile device.
Devices NOT Supported:
At this time there are no known devices that Mobile Control (PWA) does not work on.
App Versions Available:
The Mobile Control (PWA) app is version-less in the sense of updates. One of the advantages on the PWA app is that corrections/updates can be done "on the fly" so the user does not have to download and install iterative versions.
OS Compatibility:
At this time there are no known operating systems that Mobile Control (PWA) does not work on.
For SongShow Mobile Control 1.0 or Mobile Control 2.0 - DEPRECATED
Devices Supported:
The Mobile Control apps for SongShow Plus are currently available from the following sources for the associated devices:
NOTE: Since these App versions are now deprecated, they are only supported in the context described here and using the existing support articles. This support can change and existing apps may stop working at any time.
If they do not function as expected the only alternative is to use the Mobile Control (PWA) and SongShow Plus 9.2 or later.
Apple Devices (Note - Only 64-bit devices are supported with SongShow Mobile Control)
- Apple App Store
- Mobile Control 1.0 is no longer available.
- Mobile Control 2.0 is available.
Most Android Devices
- Google Play (Your device must be in the Google Play supported devices list)
- Mobile Control 1.0 no longer available.
- Mobile Control 2.0 is no longer available.
Windows 10
- Microsoft Store on Windows 10 systems
- Mobile Control 1.0 is no longer available.
- Mobile Control 2.0 is available.
Devices NOT Supported:
The Mobile Control apps for SongShow Plus are NOT currently available for the associated devices:
Kindle Line
- There is currently no support for the Kindle line of tablets.
There is currently no support for the Amazon Appstore.
Side-loading
- There is currently no method to acquire the apps directly from the developer.
App Versions Available:
The current version of the mobile control app, SongShow Mobile Control (Mobile Control 2.0), was deployed in March 2018 and replaces all previous versions.
The Mobile Control 1.0 of the mobile control apps are now deprecated and no longer available for download. If you have the Mobile Control 1.0 version(s) still installed on your device, they may still work but could stop working at any time. If this is the case please download the latest versions where available.
NOTE: The Mobile Control 2.0 app does not have the same functionality as the Mobile Control 1.0 ones so precede with caution. Mobile Control 1.0 apps that are lost or uninstalled will not be recoverable. The Mobile Control 1.0 apps are not supported in SongShow Plus versions 8.5 or newer.
OS Compatibility:
The expectation is that the latest updates will work as expected but if you run into issues please let us know.
Android - All version of Android 4.0 and later should work with the latest version of SongShow Mobile Control.
- Android versions up to 10 have been tested and works as expected.
- Android versions 11 and later have permissions issues and will not function as expected.
iOS - All version of iOS that are compatible with 64-bit apps should work with the latest version of SongShow Mobile Control (Mobile Control 2.0).
- There are no known iOS version issues.
Windows - All versions of Windows 10 and later should work although it is unclear is Microsoft will continue support for ARM versions.
- Desktop versions of Windows 10 and 11 Home and Pro have been tested and work as expected.
