System: OS Support
SongShow Plus 7 is designed and intended for use on Windows XP
Professional, 32-bit version. SongShow Plus may run other
versions of Windows, but no testing has been
performed on other versions nor is technical support available for them.
System: Other Configurations not Supported
- Any versions of Windows later than Windows XP SP2.
- 64-bit versions of Windows.
- Windows emulation software.
- Windows Terminal Services or Remote Desktop.
- Hardware with less than a 1Ghz Pentium.
- Hardware with less than 512 MB of memory.
- Windows installations that are not updated
to the latest patches or service packs.
- Video hardware set at less than 32-bit color
resolution.
- Use of a video screen resolution of less
than 800x600 for the SongShow Plus control monitor (640x480 is still
supported for the display monitor).
- Video playback support is limited to the
capabilities of the drivers installed on the machine and is subject to
their limitations and quirks.
System: Other Hardware Considerations
- Hyperthreaded CPUs: These system configurations may cause problems. It is
recommended that you disable hyperthreading when using SongShow Plus.
- Dual Core CPU / Multi-CPU Systems: SongShow Plus should be compatible with
these system configurations.
Video File Support
Files in General: SongShow Plus uses Microsoft DirectShow to
integrate the playing of
video files. When playing a particular video file, It is necessary that the required
drivers (codecs and DirectShow filters) be installed on your system. SongShow
Plus does not ship with any video drivers or codecs. SongShow Plus also
does not support every codec, but it does support the most common ones in use.
MPEG-2 Support: By default, Windows XP systems are not
installed with MPEG-2 codecs. In order to play an MPEG-2 video through
SongShow Plus, you must first install an application that includes an MPEG-2
codec. Examples of such applications are InterVideo
WinDVD, CyberLink PowerDVD, and LeadTools products. WinDVD
and PowerDVD is frequently included with systems and video card packages. By installing
these applications, the MPEG-2 codec and necessary DirectShow filters are also
installed which then let's SongShow Plus play an MPEG-2 file. Other
products may also provide the same function.
Note: WinDVD 4 and WinDVD 8 have been tested and are known to work with SSP.
Versions 5 - 7 are known to have compatibility issues with SSP. Versions earlier
than 4 and later than 8 have not been tested with SSP. PowerDVD did not work
with earlier versions of SSP 5.5, but versions 6 and 7 of PowerDVD have been
tested and are known to work with SSP V7. Earlier and later versions of PowerDVD
have not been tested.
DVD Support
By default, Windows XP systems do not include support for playing DVDs. In order to play
a DVD through
SongShow Plus, you must first install an application that includes a DVD player.
Examples of such applications are InterVideo
WinDVD and CyberLink PowerDVD. WinDVD
and PowerDVD
is frequently included with systems and video card packages. By installing
these applications, the MPEG-2 codec and necessary DirectShow filters are also
installed which then let's SongShow Plus play an MPEG-2 file. Other
products may also provide the same function.

Flash Support (Macromedia)
Support for Flash files is provided by the Flash Support ProModule.
This ProModule was designed and tested for use with the Flash Player 6 and is
required for its use. The Flash player is not included with SongShow Plus
but can be downloaded from www.flash.com.
PowerPoint Support (Microsoft)
Recommended: Direct control of PowerPoint presentations is provided
through the PowerPoint Support ProModule. You must have PowerPoint 2000 or
later installed to use this ProModule.
Supported: You can also invoke a PowerPoint presentation by
using the PowerPoint viewer. This is presently not included with SongShow
Plus and is not the recommended way to integrate PowerPoint
presentations.
Song Select Lyrics Service (CCLI)
SongShow Plus supports the importing of lyrics from the CCLI
SongSelect Lyrics Service directly into any installed SongShow Plus
database. This feature is provided through the Lyrics Service Import
ProModule. You must have current subscription to the lyrics service to use
this ProModule.
SongSelect 2.1 and 3.0 (CCLI)
SongShow Plus supports SongSelect 2.1 and 3.0 through their respective
ProModules. However, both of these products have been discontinued by CCLI.
Song Select is not distributed with SongShow Plus.
Worship Software 2, 3, and 4 (Integrity
Music)
SongShow Plus supports Worship Software 2, 3, and 4 through a ProModule. Worship Software is not
typically included with SongShow Plus. It a can be purchased from Integrity
Music.
SongBase
SongShow Plus supports SongBase 2000 and later versions through the its respective
ProModule. SongBase is not distributed with SongShow Plus but can be
purchased from the SongBase website: http://www.songbase.com.
Libronix Support
SongShow Plus supports the Libronix text engine for scripture
retrieval. Any Bible product based on this engine should work with
SongShow Plus through the Libronix Support ProModule. No Libronix based
sources are typically provided with SongShow Plus.
QuickVerse
SongShow Plus supports QuickVerse text engine for scripture retrieval.
QuickVerse version 5 or later should work with SongShow Plus. This is
supported through the QuickVerse Suport ProModule and requires that the
QuickVerse application be installed. QuickVerse is not provided with
SongShow Plus, but can be purchased from the QuickVerse web site: http://www.quickverse.com.
Online Bible
SongShow Plus supports the Oneline Bible text engine for scripture
retrieval. This is supported through the Online Bible Support ProModule
and requires that Online Bible Millennium Edition or later must first be
installed. Online Bible is not provided with SongShow Plus but can be
purchased from www.online-bible.com.
