How do I update a version 7 License After Subscription Renewal?

3/2/2023

Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:
This article applies to SongShow Plus Version 7

With SSP V7, the license file used to unlock your installation for projection contains the expiration date of your SSP Upgrade Subscription. When the subscription expires, SSP notifies you, upon start-up, through pop-up messages. An expired subscription does not mean that you cannot use SSP, it simply means that you are no longer eligible for upgrades.

When you renew your subscription, your projection machine also needs to be updated with the new license. This is important because, unless the license is updated, you will not be able to install and run new SSP upgrades.

If you have renewed your SSP subscription and now need to update the license on your projection machine, there are number of ways to do this:

Option 1: Directly through the Internet.
If your machine has Internet access, and you have renewed SSP Upgrade Subscription, then you can update your system's license directly through the Internet. To do this: within SSP, select the menu command Tools > Utilities. This will open the SongShow Plus Utilities window. Click Unlock. This will open the Unlock SongShow Plus 7 window. Select option A and follow the steps.

Option 2: Renew with a license file.
When you renewed your license, you may have been sent a license file by e-mail. If you did, copy that license file to your projection machine, then right click on the file name. A pop-up menu will appear. Choose the Register License item. If you did not receive a license file, you can request one from the support team.

Option 3: Get a new Code B.
Contact customer support and request a new Code B. If you cannot be at your machine when you contact customer support, then you should make note of your Code A. Your machine's Code A can be found on the activation screen.
