Multiple Gradient color selections not staying selected when applied

Symptom:
When selecting multiple colors to use for the Gradient Color background the selected colors are not staying selected when exiting the color selection dialog.  If a single color is changed it stays selected.

Possible Cause:
The root cause is not known but we have verified the behaviour.  This only seems to occur if the user either selects the Apply button or has the auto-apply check mark checked when selecting each of the colors in the gradient pattern.

Possible Solution:
Do not click on Apply or set the auto-apply check box when setting multiple colors for the Gradient Color background.
