Version 8.4 > 8.4 still going to SSP folders rather than correct one!

Well, for some time now , and still in vs. 8.4, if you select from media files
slide shows, images, videos, audio tracks, or web pages it defaults to
Song Show Folders rather than the correct folder. This requires selecting
a folder that should already be known and selected. Hopefully this basic
kind of stuff will get fixed soon.

I just looked at this and it is working as expected...
A bit of info: These paths are stored in version and user specific ini files for SSP. The storage of this info occurs when SSP closes.
If you are changing users and see different behavior this is probably expected.
If you are changing versions and see different behavior this is probably expected.
If you are improperly closing SSP and see different behavior this is probably expected.
If an error occurs when closing SSP and you see different behavior this is probably expected.
These are just some examples but the idea is that with same version and user, once set they should stay the same. If you are experiencing something different than this, contact support so they can take a look.

Is there some way for me to set, for example, the default folder for images to the "images" folder
rather than the "Song Show Folders"?

Let me elaborate a little more....
There is no setting, per se, but SSP remembers it.
So to your question, the way to "set" it would be by selecting the Images tab, selecting a folder (other than the SongShow Folder option) and then close SSP.
When you re-open SSP and select the Images tab, it should open to the folder you selected previously.
Also understand that this will change over time since it remembers the last folder you were in when SSP was closed.
If this is not the way it is behaving for you, please contact the support team.

Does that mean, if I was in "images" and closed SSP and restarted,
then selected "videos", it would point to the "images"folder? I must be
missing something because this wouldn't get all the defaults set properly.
I want it to point to the "images" directory when I want to add an
image and the "video" directory when I want to add a video, etc. And
I don't care if it never points to the Song Show Plus directory since there's
no files there I care to use.

Sorry Dick, I guess my statement was incomplete. What I should have said was "it remembers the last folder you were in when SSP was closed for each tab."
If you go to "Folder A" in the %InsertTabName% tab and then close SSP, when you open SSP again and select the %InsertTabName% tab, it should go to "Folder A" again. If this is not happening, call support.

If I want to insert an image, video, audio, or web page the default
directory is always "SongShow Folders." I will contact GFM.
