This is a good question - many others have asked it, also. One speculation is to allow the user, from the Video Panel, to enter a sequence of videos into a SSP program and specify that SSP should play them successively without operator intervention, as if a SSB show is being played during the length of the "chain". Since SSB doesn't include audio, but includes text over the video, and SSP doesn't include text over a raw video, there remains a distinction between SSB and SSP (unless there are other enhancements in that regard).

Another possibility is to allow the user, from within the Edit Display Properties of a given song, to "chain" video backgrounds to the song, resulting in sort of a montage. This would allow one to use short, non-looping videos as song backgrounds. This idea is distinct from applying individual backgrounds to specific verses/choruses of a song.

But you are right to ask the question since this is speculative at this juncture.

Well, I'm here to inform... Video Chain: "Provides the capability to chain two or more video clips together as a single video"  Simply summarized, you select a list of videos which songshow treats like one - playing the list in a non-stop sequence.  This new "chain" can be played as a regular video, or as a looping motion background.

Oh, that will be very cool to be able to play them as looping motion backgrounds.

Great,

I can think of a few uses for this one... I assume with audio as well.

Pre service ad's, all short video clips. and not having to sit there and keep clicking the button.

Yes, but will we be able to chain Pan/Zoom effects?

I think that would be incredibly cool. Creating a pan/zoom loop for a background, so you don't have to worry about running out of pan/zoom before you run out of song.

In that case, keep in mind you may still want "ads" from SSB (that show your specialised text) interspersed with those video clips (maybe generic messages such as man-on-the-street interviews or sermon excerpts). If video chaining is in SSP only, (rather, if SSB doesn't allow audio), then you might not be able to use it for your desired purpose.

It still is a great new feature, since video chaining can be used to lend additional variety behind songs, or to show a series of video clips without intervening ads. I'm not sure about sync'ing clips to verses, though.
