Version 8.4 > 8.4 Shutting Down

8.4 with the latest update is shutting down after a couple of minutes.  We are running the same system for the last couple of years with no problems.  It is actually a system we bought from SSP.  Windows 10 Pro.
After fighting with it this morning I decided to go back to 8.3 and all is good.  I did try uninstalling and reinstalling 8.4 but that didn't solve the problem.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Just to clarify - is the application (SSP 8.4) shutting down or is the system shutting down?  

Did you have prior installs of 8.4 that did not behave this way or was this your first 8.4 install?

In any case, you should contact the support team so that they can take a look at this.
