Can anyone tell me if it's possible/feasible to purchase a network-ready external hard drive that I could maintain our "worship media" on remotely (or at least down in my office instead of in the video booth) and access that drive from my SSP machine without having to import each media 'piece' directly to the machine that I throw our media from?

If you have a router on your network, it may have a USB Sharing option. I have not tried this with SSP, but it should work. Another option would be to connect it to a computer that is almost always on (Server if you have one) and share it from there. SSP does have an option to use a network drive for the SSP database.
