Version 9.3 > Hymn Number on screen
We have decided to put the hymn number on the screen. I found the song number field on the song general tab. And I found the "Include Song Number" on the Song Text Layout tab. But I can't find where to adjust the size and placement of song number. Right now it's jammed really small under the copyright field, which I have configured on the lower right of the bottom of the screen.
Right now, I'm not sure where I want it, but I know that it needs to be bigger, given the eyesight of those who continue to use they hymnals.
Anything you put on the Title box under songs will appear on the screen next to the Title. I put the page number, the CCLI number, and a "!" symbol (to show I have proofed and adjusted that song and it is ready for projection) in parenthesis so they don't present on the screen. Just put the number with the title under edit. It would appear with the title at the bottom, but I think the print would be big enough to read. The other thing you might try is just putting it in the song text.
I used to put the hymn number in the title, "Amazing Grace" --page 330 and made the title page the first full slide. Now I put the title information on the first slide at the
lower right corner (about 40%x40%). I put the the hymnal number "[hymn 330]" in the reference location since we never use that for anything else. When the song comes
from the hymnal, I add the reference at the top of the title, author, copyright block. With the title block at the bottom right, I often have to make minor up-down adjustments
for long titles or a large number of authors.
So, according to everyone here, that Song # field is basically useless.
I'm guessing that it was for some, yet unknown, sorting function. But as I mentioned above, "reference" is available along with the title,
author, and copyright on the title slide.
Joel - I figured it out, I think. If you put the hymn number in "number" it will show up on the title page in the "reference" section. So you could put "Baptist Hymnal" in as the reference and "250" in as the number, and when the reference is printed on the title page, it will be "Baptist Hymnal #250." It would have been nice and oh so easy to have some note made of that!
Joel - did you ever try my suggestion??
