Version 9.3 > Why does this forum exist???
I was hopeful about this forum. It has turned out to be a total bust. No one is on it. No one posts. Most people are switching to ProPresenter mainly because of lack of user support on SongShow. This is really sad because we are long time users of SongShow and like the program.
At one time (around 2011 ??), this was the epitome of a great user's forum. Dozens, or perhaps hundreds, of knowledgeable users, along with a few
of the techs for the tough problems. I often got answers to what I considered complex problems in 24 hours. This, along with daily
information about formatting, backgrounds, and other topics of interest and use. In addition, there was an active "wish list" with requested changes
discussed. I've had a couple of simple suggestions granted and an update posted in 48 hours. All things have progressively declined since then. I
still love the basic program, sans crashes, errors, and lack of support, but I'm 91, and new people are on the horizon, and they won't put up with
the faults.
That is sad to hear. I am 76 and had to self teach. I do not really look forward to self teaching ProPresenter
I agree with both of you. I have tried looking for answers to my issues but it seems too hard to see if anyone else has the same issue. Right now I have been having problems with getting the bible versions we purchased to all show in slide builder. They show in SSP but when we need it in builder it isn't there.
Sadly, learning SongShow has been a lesson in self-teaching for me. I think I am finally to the point where I am somewhat confident with it. I will take a stab at your question.
Maybe I have never used builder because I don't know what that is. This is how I make scripture slides.
1. I open Slide Show
2. Select 'Scripture Slide Assistant'
3. Select 'Get Scripture' At the top of this page is a drop-down menu where I select bible version.
I save all my scripture slides in Slide Shows because the music director often repeats them over time. For some reason I seem to like editing the slide, like font, font size placement after I have created the slide in slide editor. I'm not sure if I am very clear with this. If you still can't see the versions you purchased I would suggest contacting the vendor purchased it from
I find the Song editor one of the best things in SSP. It is extremely versatile so that, once I have determined how we usually sing a song, it is saved for the next time we use it or I can save it as the default. Next time I need it, up it pops and I can change order easily. Then simply adding a background of choice and it ready to go. If there is a particular background or font that you always want with that particular song, you can add them into the individual song properties when you add the song. In 30 years now I have only made slideshows of about 5 songs --"How Great thou Art," et al, but I rarely use them.
PS: SlideShow Builder is the program that you are using when you "open Slide Show." You can run it from SSP or separately.
