Version 9.3 > Uploading Images for Slide Builder

If I am building a slide, when I "Select Document of File - Image Files" the searching for images under a file is delayed or stopped.  Sometimes, when I choose a file to review images, it takes several minutes or stops.  Anyone else had such an experience?

WE were having this issue with our announcement loop. It wouldn't populate the thumbnails and some of the background videos and eventually even the image objects on the slides. And eventually, it wouldn't populate the thumbnails in the Selection dialog. I finally realized that we've been using the same sspss for several years and guessed that the file had been corrupted after 100+ edits. So I created a new one from scratch and it seems to be working correctly now.

A few years ago, I had the same issue with the sermon slide show. I'd always start with last week's then save it with a new name with the new content. (As a former COBOL programmer, this came very naturally). When it started acting up, I finally started creating them from scratch at the beginning of a series and haven't seen the issue reappear.

We've also had that issue with Word documents being edited too many times. So we save it as an RFT, to strip out the gunk, then save it back as a new Word document.

Hope something here helps.

Thank you!  I'll create a new SSP and see if that works!

I stopped using the default search long ago because it took far too long to access the files. I use the Windows Explorer option,  which is almost instantaneous. Whether or not this causes additional crashes I do not know! The default search engine seems to work well with scriptures and songs and usually with the blank slide -- it's mainly builder that I have trouble with. I don't use the indexer.
