Version 8.5 > Default Transition for Blank Slide

It seems that in 8.5, my default Slide Properties are no longer applied to Blank Slides. I can go to slide properties of the individual blank slide; when I check Transitions, the default transition appears and is then effective. But I didn't need this bother prior to 8.5.
