Version 7 > Another Song Select issue

Hi,
We have installed the latest release of version 7 onto our church office machine as a workstation copy. Unlike another thread about Song Select issues, we don't experience catastrophic failures when we try to download a song from within SSP. Intead, an IE browser from within SSP immediately returns with the message that the Song Select Website cannot be found. This was an issue for us with all the beta version 7s as well. It was never an issue - on the workstation or on our projection laptop - with version 5.5. Any ideas? (for what it's worth, yes, our Internet connection is good; no, we have made no changes in IE or the Windows XP Pro installation since installing version 7)

Just something to try....
Have you installed the latest songselect support module....??
Just incase it has been updated.. you can do this by checking for updates.??
otherwise, I will have to leave it for someone else, as I dont use songselect.. sorry.

Hi,

I believe this failure is because IE7 was used and if you don't use IE7 you shouldn't get this error msg.Hi,

This may not be helpful, but just for clarification, SSP doesn't have a browser; it merely activates the default browser on your machine (the new browser showed up by ssp when I updated the browser on my machines). However, when you ckick on one of the tabs below such as SSP Forum, does that browser activation work? Knowing this will differentiate between a CCLI SongSelect web site or SongSelect (Pro)Module issue, or merely a general browser/internet issue.

Thanks to both of you for responding to my issue.
Rod, I have not checked whether the Song Select pro module is the absolute latest. I assumed that it is because of how new the latest release of version 7 is, but I will make sure; thanks for the suggestion.
As for default browser, Lee, on our church office PC it's actually Mozilla, which opens as it should when we click most Web links. But the browser that opens up when we click the Song Select Service link in SSP is a form of IE (thanks for the clarification about SSP not having a browser of its own; I was not clear about that in my original post). For what it's worth, there is no difference in the behavior of the browsers themselves now compared to when we used SSP version 5.5 on the office PC. As far as I can tell, the *only* differences are that we are using SSP 7 and SSP can no longer find the Song Select service when we want it to download a song.
Thanks for any additional ideas,
Bill
