Is there some way to make a specific Bible version the default?

I think it depends on your Bible sources. I know I've been jousting that windmill for quite a while with Online Bible. I seem to have it set for inserting scripture in slide show builder. But I use is so infrequently directly in the program, that I couldn't tell you the current state.

Years ago when I first started using SSP and I had QV7, it had some way of assigning the default. In recent
years it always made ASV the default using QV7. Now that I have been forced to give up all that good Bible
software and its 15 or so Bibles, I have purchased NIV from GoFish and have the normal other ASV and KJV.
I would like NIV to be the default, but ASV still is the one that comes up --- maybe alphabetical?

Whatever bible you selected the previous time SSP was open in that profile is what should be selected by default when SSP is opened again.
This setting is saved on a per user basis so it can be different for each user profile.
If you set a bible, close SSP and reopen SSP and the same bible is not set then that needs to be looked into.
Please verify these steps and let us know what your behavior is.

I have the same issue. We use NIV as the version of choice. But SSP always revert back to ASV. If the tech for the day is not paying attention, he may have the ASV text up for the congregation but the one reading the scripture on the platform is reading NIV. Is there a way settingin the Preference section to make a specific version the default. Thanks for your help.

Do you set the scriptures in the program or on the fly?
If you insert the scriptures in the program, you can right click on them and select a different version.

We set the scriptures in the program 90% of the time. Otherwise, it is on the fly.
Thanks for the tip on changing the version when the scripture is already in the program. That will help.

All,
To reiterate what i said before - At this time the default for the bible selection in the Scripture panel is based on the last bible used. SSP remembers the last one selected when closed and sets that version when SSP is opened again. This is remembered on a per user basis so different logins can have a different bible selected when SSP is opened. There is no preferences setting for a default bible version.
If your system is not behaving this way, contact the support team for investigation.
