FYI - The other day I un-muted the audio in the SongShow program but the Win 7 system audio was still muted. I had to go to the audio button in the lower right system tray to un-mute it. Then the audio worked fine. Somehow SongShow and the Win 7 system settings weren't syncing up properly.

SongShow Plus doesn't control the system volume level, only it's own volume levels.
