I renewed my subscription at the end of November last year. I am really concerned that there won't be a stable version of SSP 9 before my subscription expires. So far the 2 updates that have been made in 9 months have not really fixed issues with the program. Do I have to pay for another year of subscription to get a stable version?

No, everyone who has a current subscription at this time will receive a 9.2 license.
