Version 7 > Total Frustration

How in the world can you create a new slide show without going through builder? I click new slide and it puts a "new songshow plus show1" in the database file and it just sits. I right click to edit and it just sits there. I move it over to the display side and go to edit and it just sits there. I go to the main menu to edit and it does nothing.  Is it beacuse I have the workstation version at home and I am going to have to edit at the Presenter station at church. I know this is a presentation program but why can't they make it like Powerpoint in the regard of just clicking an icon or menu item and you are ready to start making slides. Better yet, if the song creator side allowed more freedom, like putting the title on the first page only or the copyright on the last page only I wouldn't have to worry about slides I could create songs the way I want them to look.

I've been doing this for ten years and I'm very familiar with Copyright laws and CCLI. I want the copyright on the last slide and not the first. Just like if you had it on a lyric sheet.

The other issue is not adding slides to an existing show, it's getting to the existing show. It won't allow me to edit.

Sorry to hear about your frustration.  The SlideShow Builder application will take slightly longer than the main SSP control to open but you should be able to freely create and edit your slideshows.

Try this from your start menu with no other applications running:

Start > Programs > SongShow Plus > Slideshow Builder

If it does not open from there you may want to give the Support Team a call and they can walk through your issue with you - Something may have gone wrong with the SSB launch.

Thanks. I can open up Slide builder that way. But shouldn't it open in SSP somewhere. Also, I still would like to edit in SSP but it doesnt allow me to do that.

If I understand correctly, in SSP you have a slide show, and you want to edit it. If you right-click on the slide show item, a selection list should pop up. Near the bottom should be an iten for "Slide Show". Clicking that gives one choice only: Edit. Clicking that launches Slide Show Builder.

You can edit from either the slide show database frame or the Program Frame. Either way you can right click on the slide show and from the database frame you will see edit at the top of the selection list. From the program frame move your cursor to the Slide Show selection and another selection will appear that gives you a choice to edit or print. Either way all edits work the same for both slide Show and Song.

I appreciate the advice, but don't you guys think I would have tried the obvious places to try and edit. On the version I have I cannot edit by right clicking anything! I've had to put the Slide Builder icon on my desktop and go to it that way in order to even get to Slide Builder period!

I think you should call technical support and have them take a look at the problem. It is not normal for SSP to work like you are experiencing.
