Version 7 > Quickverse not installed?
3/12/2007 6:14:40 PM
We recently built a new system for our projection machine. I have used Quickverse 8 before with the older version of SSP on our old system. When I installed the new version of SSP on our new computer and installed Quickverse also it says that there are no bibles installed on the system. I seem to remember a patch that I had to get for our old system and I thought it would have been included in the new software for SSP but wonder if anyone can tell me what I am missing? I hoped to have this system up and running for this Sunday but if I can't get it running correctly I don't want to place it in use. Can anyone help me? I tried searching the forums for anyone else with this problem but cant seem to find it.
Thanks for all your help.

Did you install quickverse before you installed SSP??
You need to install Quick Verse before you install SSP so that it will install the quick verse support..
If you reinstall SSP. It should now recognoise QV and install the support.
Hope this is the info you are after.

What Rod said. Run the install again and it will figure out that you have QV installed and install the module for QV support.
That's why I always install SSP last. Install everything else and then SSP will see what you have that it supports and install all the right modules.
But I've certainly done enough reinstalls to have learned this the hard way.

I had originally installed ssp first, then quickverse. But I went back and reinstalled ssp and it still didn't see it. I even opened up quickverse so it should see it and that didn't help. I'll try uninstalling ssp and do it fresh maybe that will work.
Thanks.

You should be able to manually select the QuickVerse module for installation, even if the installer didn't choose it.
I'm not sure why it wouldn't have discovered it, though.

I uninstalled SSP and then reinstalled it. I made sure the quickverse promodule was selected but even in the window you get that lets you check what you want to install it says quickverse isn't installed. I went through this a few years ago but can't remember what solved this problem. It had something to do with the version of quickverse I was using being 8. I wonder if I could find another version of quickverse and install that maybe it would see it then.
When I go to tools, scripture source, quickverse, check status it says it is properly installed, but when I select to test it says that no bibles were found on the hard drive.
this is getting very puzzling.

OK Thanks everyone for letting me go on here and talk out what was happening. It got me thinking and I realized the problem might not be with ssp but with quickverse. I went to QV's support and looked for updates, thankfully they still listed updates for this version, and solved the problem. SO now that I installed the update to QV SSP sees it and I am going good now.
Thanks again to everyone who tried to help me!
I never realized how much it helps just having other users so I know I'm not totally off my rocker.

Just looked back through these old support questions and think the problem with the new system may be that I need the updates. I'm going to look for them now.
