I just upgraded from 9.1 to 9.2.

When I ran SSP 9.2, several of the preferences and display options were reset,

What's the deal? Why don't all the settings come over from 9.1?

This actually should not occur.  The intent, as in the past, is that a new version/install will gather info from previously installed builds.  

This is something that we check and it appears to be working in my setup.

You said there were 'several' implying that some were and some were not carried over.  Can you specify what changed and what did not?  That would help us to determine if there is an issue.

As near as I can tell, nothing under Preferences got carried over. Display properties seemed to come over.

But the start up screen was back to the animated logo, instead of black. Program panel lost the open previous program at startup. Slide show and Song media control has the Preview height reset to default. 

It also forgot how I had the presenter window set up.

Those are the ones I could find off of the top of my head.

These happened on my home machine, as well as the production projection machine.

OK - thanks for the info.   I was able to replicate some of this behavior and we are investigating.
