We have SSP 5.5 installed on a new Dell XPS with Xenon Processor, 4 GB Ram, Nvidea GeForce 7800 256 Mg RAM.  If keep having the Roxio 8 video editor crash on that computer when we try to save an edited video of about 1Gb size. Our IT person, almost now pulling straws raised the issue that possibly all the Roxio Suite 8 programs maybe having some conflicts with SSP 5.
Has anyone had any of these issues before. Any ideas of what we should look for next as our culprit.  We have uninstalled and reinstalled Roxio but that seems not to do anything.  SSP5 is running fine.

Are you running SSP 5.5 at the same time as Roxie VE?

No, we have been attempting to use it with nothing else open except the "Videowave" editor of Roxio.

THen you can pretty much rule out any conflicts with SSP.  If it's not running it won't get in Roxio's way at all.

What type of file are you trying to save your video as?  Some file formats have maximum size limits.

Can you save a video of say half that size?  Or 1/4 the size?  Find out how large a video you CAN work with and see if that gives you any clues.

Does this processor have Hyper threading? or is it duel core or anything...????

Just thought it might be the 5.5 and hyperthreading type issue..??

would it be better to run V7??

After browsing Ssplash.com forums I definitely will move to v7 asap.

The computer in question may be hyperthreading and could be issue with Roxio. I'll need to research that. Thanks.
