I have a song set up where it is a black slide with no words that I have been using to show different backgrounds. I tried it in our first service and it would not show anything video or static background. I got an alert message saying to contact support if happened again. I tried between services and got the same results. I am using the lastest build with the update applied. I use motion backgrounds in the songs and they work OK. Can't figure out why this one gives an error. It has been working so don't know why not now.

Sounds like you need to call support. I'm not real familiar with Background Improv, but I've not had it fail like that.

I'm guessing you're trying to add backgrounds to song lyrics while the lyrics are live on the presentation screen, yes? I may be stating the obvious here, but one thing that catches me up frequently is the global display properties. If, under display, edit display properties,  motion background property group, you don't have "Background Improv" selected it won't work.  I hope it's that simple to fix!

No, this is something I have been using since it was available, now all of a sudden it doesn't work. I have not had opportunity to call support about it as I'm volunteer and don't get a chance to get to church that often. It only does not work with it is on the program side. Thanks for the input.

Just wondering what are you trying to accomplish, I guess I am not understanding it.

I will try to explain. I have a song called "blank slide for background", which there is nothing but background improv checked. I have been able to put that in my program list, then if I wish I can go to view and show window backgrounds. From there I used to be able to click on an image, still or motion and it would show what I had selected in "blank slide for background. Now it it not working at all. It worked great I could change a background on the fly to something that was said or if I just wanted a pic or motion bg while someone was singing or dancing, etc.

I was able to duplicate the procedure you have described and it worked fine for me....
You may want to double check your Global Display Properties and the display properties of the "blank slide for background" song to make sure there is nothing overriding the Background Improv or perhaps that someone else had changed it....

To go back a bit and cover other possibilities....
What version were you using when it worked and what version are you using now when you say it does not work?
Have you tried creating a new one?

I did the following on the current release (July 2008 - 9/30) and it worked fine:

1. created new song called "Blank song for BGI".
2. set display properties in the song to Background improv.
3. saved song.
4. added song to program and presented.
5. selected images and video from the Background Improv panel.

If this info does not help, you will need to contact support...
