Hello, My church is currently using SSP 5.5 and I have question about adding video to existing slideshow and having it play automatically with the other slides without having to manually press the diamond to play the video. Is this possible with version 5.5? I've checked the manuals and I can't find anything but there may be a possibility I overlooked it. Thanks for your help.

No. This is not possible in 5.5 or 7.0.

That would be an unknown future version. 

However, if you have a current SSP subscription, you can vote for it in the wishlist.

DDugg - How are you wanting to add videos to a slideshow?  As a background?  As a single element?

It is possible to add videos to slideshows using the motion background settings in SSP version 7.  Additionally, if you want the video to be the focus item just add it as the background of a blank slide.

I believe this works the same way in version 5.5

Thanks for your response! We discovered we could add the video as a motion back groung but we couldn't get any sound. Any suggestions?

Audio is not supported in the slide shows yet. It is a wish list item. Check it out.

If you insert the video as a program item, the audio does work.
