I've been searching here and a google search but I can't find out if and how to insert a flash file into ssp. I did a flash animation that I want to go with our regular announcements and someone told me that I can insert the file right into ssp but I haven't found out how. When I searched the forums they were posts from 2006 and ssp didn't have the capability to do that then.

Thanks.

Alex

Run the SSP installation and make sure that the flash animation module is installed.

Then copy or import your swf into the SSP video folder and you should be able to show it as a video.

Hey, thanks a lot. Will try that tomorrow when I go to the church.

We dropped the flash file in the video folder and could see it in ssp but when we try to play it it would play one second on the screen and then pause. Then if we clicked it again it would play the next scene and then pause. But in the little icon to the right it would play all the way through. Just not on the projector.

Also, we can't insert it into the announcements slide show. When I choose slide/new/video slide from the menu the folder is empty. It only looks for .avi, .mpeg, and .mpg files even though it says "all file types." Any suggestions?

I'd call tech support. It's not working right.

You may need to call into tech support to get an incident started regarding the .swf file playback. However, I can say that .swf files are not supported in slide shows. I know that's a bit confusing.

I have run .swf files in slide shows. Do you have the K-Lite Codec Pack installed? If so try changing the .swf to .mpg. It works for me.

Thanks for the replies. I will check these things out when I go to the church office.

If that doesn't work you can always get a file converter. I use one called Prism Video Converter. You don't get the full feature version for free but the free version will convert a .swf to .wmv. A .wmv will work in SSP.

Thanks, tom. I was looking for a free one and thank God for reviews because people who tried them said they were either a scam or one person got a virus from the download. Thanks for the recommendation.!

Hmmm.....I went to the prism site and downloaded the software and it doesn't support .swf. It also doesn't say it converts to wmv. Just
  • avi, 3gp, mov,
  • mp4, dv
  • Can you send the link to what you are talking about? Maybe I downloaded the wrong software. I didn't see anything about .swf, just .avi as being supported but when I read further down it said also other video formats so I figured that's where .swf was listed.

    Thanks.

Actually I figured out that I could select the file and add it to the list but when I try to convert it it says it could not open source video file. So, if you have any suggestions I'd appreciate it. I just don't see where it says it can convert a .swf file. Thanks.
