How do I use the DV capability with version 7? I have WinDVD 5 installed. When I try to select/import a DVD, I get a message that no DVD is available even though I have a DVD drive installed on my PC. When I run directly from WinDVD is works perfectly?

I cannot find any instructions on using this feature. Please help

Thanks!

Do you have the DVD ProModule installed? I do not believe it is checked by default on a normal install. Run the updater with all components selected to see if it needs to be installed.

The DVD module sometimes has trouble with certian DVDs because of a "no skip" greeting or menu. I ran into that twice this week and had to show the DVD clip in WinDVD, making it full screen on screen 2. Just pop it up over SSP and it worked ok.

Not as nice as from within SSP, however.

Is there or has there been any other DVD player software installed on this system?

Not on mine. Just WinDVD 6.

We've just completed a frustrating week with our media PC.  For some reason, DVD functionality is intermittent, at best, with SSP.  We've been using v5.5 for about 21 months.  We've occasionally used DVDs without too much trouble - typically one DVD track in any given program.  This week we had our VBS and required several tracks of DVD accompaniment for the kids to sing along with.  Other media workers were here for Monday-Thursday and I was responsible for the Friday program.  All week we've had to resort to swapping DVDs through our DVD player rather than use our PC and SSP.  I'm not sure the exact nature of the error messages that were popping up when the others were using v5.5, but yesterday we finally figured we had nothing to lose and bit the bullet to upgrade to v7.  I have yet to form solid opinions on the differences between 5.5 and 7, but I can say we seem to have made no improvement as far as OUR ability to use DVDs on our particular PC/SSP combination.  The actual error message that pops up in a window when trying to use a DVD track that we've imported is:

Unable to add DVD Title to program. Reason: Unable to load DVD Title
(NotAccessible).
Reason: Unspecified error

Does anybody know what this could mean?  The DVD is accessible using WinDVD (version 6) or the "Dell Media Experience" software that came with our computer.
ANY suggestions would be appreciated.  Our hardware configuration is listed below.

Thanks-
-Philip

Possible that the DVD you are trying to play is "locked" or "copyright protected".

"Unable to load DVD title" is telling you it cannot access the information needed to open the DVD. this is nothing to do with SSP but to do with how the DVD was authored.

I guess I forgot a key piece of information.  All the DVDs we use at church work perfectly on my "Workstation" computer at home.  It is an HP Media Center PC I keep updated to the same rev levels as the Dell that we have at church.  Because the DVD works at home, I'm sure it's not because of copy protection or locks.  Because I have no trouble at home but only at church... that's why I'm stumped.

I would uninstall the Dell Media Experience and WinDVD, and then re-install WInDVD. I believe Dell is in bed with PowerDVD, so Dell Media Experience probably uses thier codecs. It is their codecs that SSP has issues with.
