Looking Back: The debut of SSP

SSP's debut was Easter season, 1996. While this alone would be enough to make me nervous, it also happened to be the time when Capital Christian Center flipped the switch on its new video projection system. Besides the presentation of song lyrics, we were also presenting video clips from a CD-i source (raise your hands if you ever used CD-i -- I didn't think so). Some live cameras may also have been involved. The first Sunday the new system was used was Palm Sunday...mostly in a trial mode -- but Easter Sunday was the system's premiere, and things had to go well. I don't recall any significant system related glitches, and none from this early pre-1.0 version of software I had built over the few proceeding months. After that weekend, SSP became a regular player in the CCC worship experience.
