Well, I can finally relax...

Well, I can finally relax – if only for a moment!  The first SSPlash Course event went off well.  I’m happy to say that we ran Beta 1 of SSP V7 for four hours solid without a single lockup or crash – and this was with a version that I had just compiled at 1:00 A.M. the day of the event!  Although we used V7 for the event, most of the topics discussed covered features that have been a part of SSP for quite some time now.  I’m always amazed at how much people don’t know about the many features of SSP – even those who have used it for years.  Anyway, we did spend some time going over the features planned for the V7 launch, and then explained how this was just the start of the V7 evolution process.  We discussed how the interactive wish list will play a vital role in this process, and how it integrates into the SSP user interface.

I thought the Launch Party was fun as well – I trust those attending felt the same way!  The food was good, the band was great – and we had a good time getting acquainted.  The Capital Christian Center staff was very accommodating, well beyond what was expected of them.  This is the church where it all started, and it was a pleasure to return here to kick off, what I consider to be, a most significant era of SSP.  Pastor Ken Wilde offered a very gracious and fervent prayer for us – something I don’t take lightly.

And now for some acknowledgements: Ken Holsinger, the man who has both the creative energy but also the practical skill to envision and implement such an event; Nancy Kelly, the one who coordinated all registrants and the multiple details of this event; David Rencher and Reid Sandros, who put in overtime this week helping with a multitude of technical details in preparation for this event; and my wife, Nadine, whose eye for style and flair help make the Launch Party what it was.  Oh, and she is also responsible for our stylish outfits!!
