My Church's Favorite: Paul Baloche Songs(?)

4/27/2009  < Previous  Next >

I was recently listening to The Writer's Collection from Paul Baloche.

I counted that at least eight songs from this album are ones that our church has used over the last few years, and that doesn't include at least one that is not on this album that we recently used. Without actually looking closely at the playlists, I'd guess that this makes Paul our most used song writer. I'd also guess that Chris Tomlin comes in a close second and perhaps Hillsongs United third, but that's less clear to me.

What are the favorites of your church?

Incidently, the songs I was referring to are:

  • Open The Eyes Of My Heart (of course, but not so much lately)
  • Hosanna
  • Above All
  • Your Name
  • Hallelujah To My King
  • Offering
  • Our God Saves
  • You Gave Your Life Away
  • I Cling to the Cross (from Our God Saves )

(BE190)

I haven't done any sort of count, but I know we sing a lot of Chris Tomlin.

Some churches, evidently, lean heavily toward Matt Redmond [warning: satire}
