Looking Ahead: Video Chains

10/6/2005  < Previous  Next >

One of the new features included with the upcoming SSP V7 is the Video Chain.  If you are a church that is presently using video for your announcements (as apposed to slide shows), you are probably, each week, rendering a single long video file that contains all of the announcements.  This file is then used to play the announcements, perhaps looped, perhaps not looped.  In any case, building this really file isn’t too difficult, but it does take time.  With the Video Chain feature in SSP V7, it is now even easier to accomplish this same task and takes much less time!

Building a Video Chain is as simple as selecting two ore more video files, arranging their order, and then saving the arrangement into a new file called a video chain.  This new file is not a rendered video; in fact it’s very small and simply references the video files in the chain.  However, in SSP, you can play it just as if it were one single video file.  Very convenient, I think!
