Feature Preview: SongSelect Import

SongShow Plus has a long history with CCLI. Version 2 directly integrated with the SongSelect Windows application which provided a useful way for users go have access to thousands of song lyrics. That integration is still available in version 7, although the SongSelect Windows application was discontinued several years ago. It was replaced with an online version of SongSelect. The online service provides access to even more song lyrics, but there was no mechanism for direct integration. SongShow Plus added an import tool letting users select a song from the website and, upon download, would capture the file and import it (as best it could) into the song database. It mostly worked, but was wrought with various issues from time to time.

Recently, CCLI published an API to the online SongSelect database which provides a much cleaner integration for applications like SongShow Plus. The next version of SongShow Plus uses this API for direct integration. Now, rather than going to the SongSelect webiste, you will open an import window directly from within SongShow Plus, enter search text, review the songs that match the search, then download the one that you need. When logging in to your SongSelect account, you can tell SongShow Plus to remember your account so that you don't need to log into it each time.
