Feature Preview: Slide Builder Toolbar Update

SongShow Plus 8.0 included a number of user interface updates to keep up with the UI-times. One thing that wasn't addressed, however, was the Slide Builder toolbar. This is how the Slide Builder toolbar looks in 8.1:
This has remained nearly unchanged since SongShow Plus 4.0. It's dense and requires mouse hovers to get the hints of what operations the buttons perform.
With 8.2, the toolbar has been redesigned to an updated designed which is more inline with current toolbar UI design trends:
As you can see, the new design is more ribbon-like than the previous design. Different categories of operations are grouped by tabs. Buttons are captioned which eliminates the need to hover for hints. While these changes aren't a complete move to the Microsoft Ribbon design, it moves in that direction which should make access to the Slide Builder operations less daunting.

As a long time user of SongShow, I have to let you know that the new toolbar in 8.2 is awful. I now have to make more mouse movement and clicks to get to what I need to build a slide. While the look is clean, it seems that ease of use and functionality in quickly getting to what is needed to build a slide has been forgotten about. PLEASE go back to the old layout.

Sorry you don't like the new layout. This was created for more precise editing based on feedback from other users.
That said, the legacy toolbar is available in the current build. Simply open the Slide Builder and select Settings > Preferences > Edit Window and check theUse Legacy Toolbar option. A re-start is required.
