User specific preferences

One of less glamorous, but perhaps well-appreciated changes in SSP V7 is that many settings and control window layout options are now unique to individual users. This means that if you arrange the control window just how you like it, each time you use SSP, it will retain the same layout, even if other people use the same machine and make their own changes. This also goes for most of the user settable preferences (Tools > Preferences). Now this only works if your church uses separate user logins for its users. User specific settings are stored in the individual user account data areas.

BTW, we still hear of people trying to use SSP on Windows 98. We haven’t “supported” pre-Windows XP systems since V 5.5 was released. In case you actually get SSP V7 working on Windows 98, this is one feature that will probably not work since that version of Windows does not support separate user logins. User accounts have always been available in the Windows NT line and there was some user-account-like feature available in Windows Me.
