The wish list is live

6/17/2006

The wish list went live this week. I am looking forward to see how well this mechanism works. The intent, of course, is to use it to help guide priorities for SSP development. Many good ideas are submitted. Having users see and vote on them should prove to be interesting.

Interpreting the results will take some thought. If this were a one-user/one-vote process, then it would be fairly straight forward, but we’re allowing up to ten votes per user, plus the capability to rank the votes.

As an example: If 50% of all users select Item A as their #1 pick, but 75% of all users select Item B as their #2 pick, which item is the higher priority? Or what if 60% of all users select Item A as their #1 pick, 40% select Item B as their #1 pick, but Item A will take twice as long to implement as Item B? Obviously, there will still need to be some judgment calls made.

Anyway, get to voting!
