Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:
This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus using SongShow Slide Builder

This article covers the basics for creating, using, editing, locating and backing up your SongShow Slide Builder User Templates.

The User Templates within the Slide Builder can be used for adding commonly used elements or slides to a slide show without having to hunt down the last place you might have used it. User Templates are built as a slide show slide. There are currently no multi slide template options available in this tool though you can create base slide shows and name/save them accordingly.

Creating
Creating templates is pretty easy.  Simply create a slide that has elements you wish to save in any slide show. Once created, right-click on the slide and select the Add to Templates option at the bottom of the menu.

Using
The easiest way to use them is the "from template" options within the Slide Builder.  There are two main places for this, the Insert toolbar and the main Get Started screen. When the Slide Templates tool opens, select the My Templates option from the collection list.  This will have all of the templates you created listed as individual slides. There are also an array of stock templates here as well.

Editing
Editing your templates can also be done from within the Slide Templates tool. When the My Templates collection is selected,  you will find an Edit Templates button at the bottom of the tool.  Click this button to open the templates in a new instance of Slide Builder.

Locating and Backing Up
In some instances, a user may want to copy and share (or move to another machine) the entire template collection that the user created.  To do this browse to the location of the file which should be  %MediaPath%/User folder - the file is called UserTemplates.sspss.  Your particular MediaPath can be found by looking at the location listed in the Tools > Media Files Location... dialog.  Once located, this slide show can be copied and moved wherever it is needed.
