SSP Best Practices - Media Recommendations for SongShow Plus

In addition to the information noted in other articles, we make the following general recommendations regarding media use in SongShow Plus:

For the best result, we recommend that your media resolution and aspect ratio match that of your projection output.  This should be shown in your Windows Display settings.  If you do not know or cannot find your current output resolution, contact your local IT department.

Images

• JPG and PNG are the recommended formats.  These are the most common and have a good file size to resolution ratio.  PNG with transparency is supported.

Video

• H.264 (AVC) and WMV are the recommended formats.  These are both supported natively in Windows 10 and later.  H.264 (AVC) usually has the better file size to resolution ratio.

Audio

• MP3 is the recommended format.  This has a better file size to quality ratio than wma or wav and has fewer file protection issues than m4a.
