SSP Best Practices - Media Import Importing Recommendations for SongShow Plus

In addition to the information noted in other articles, we make the following general recommendations regarding media importation in SongShow Plus:

Media files can be acquired in multiple ways.  While having many choices for media importation within SongShow Plus can allow for easier acquisition, these methods can sometimes be confusing.

There are methods for general importation and there are others used to extract media from existing content or location. This is mostly related to typical media such as Images, Videos and Audio Tracks but also Slideshows, Programs or other files that are no longer relevant. There may be other articles for specific help with other file types.

Default method for importing media

1. Launch SongShow Plus.
2. Select the Media Files panel.
3. Select the tab related to the media you wish to import (i.e. Images tab).
4. Browse the folders listed and select the desired destination for the imported media.  If one does not exist, you can create one.
5. Click on the Create or Acquire from...  menu in the Media Files panel
6. Select the File Copy option form the menu.  This method will work for 95% of media import needs.  It is the most flexible option, allowing for the selection of media form anywhere on the system as well as most external locations/tools.  This method also allows the user to select one or multiple files from the source location for import.
7. Locate and select the desired source for the imported media. 
8. Chose the media file(s) to be imported and click Select.
9. Once the import is complete, the user may be prompted regarding what to do with the files.
10. If prompted, select the desired action to complete the import process.
