Slide Properties are an integral part of SongShow Plus and can be used to change the look and feel of any (or all) of your content.  To a further degree, the Song Text Layout > Build Options and its use of various options to render the lyrics can be a useful tool.
The ability to use various Build Options for the song parts can provide for a custom and dramatic result, but beware, overuse of the Build Options can cause undesired and unexpected behavior. When using multiple Output Windows there are also multiple corresponding sections of the Slide Properties.

The Emphasis Animation gives the user the ability to display an entire verse of text but control the flow of the verse by highlighting only a certain part of the verse when the song is advanced.  This can be very useful for new or seldomly used songs so that the audience can see the entire text and also have a visual prompt for the flow of the song.
Following this particular setup, it can also be used to project the full song verse to the main projection while sending a smaller amount of text (per render settings) to an Output Window configured as Lower Third.

NOTE: The Emphasis animation configuration does change the way the verse layout appears on the Main Projection.  Line breaks are inserted between the parts that are being emphasized.  This is Expected Behavior.

Please use caution when applying Song Text Layout > Build Options.   In most cases, it is not advised to use disparate settings across different Output Windows.

The example below configures the settings such that the full verse is displayed on the Main projection and a maximum of 2 lines of the verse will be displayed on the Lower Third. The suggested settings below can be changed to accommodate a different look however it is important that the changes are made consistently in both locations.

To use Song Text Layout > Build Options to create a subset of song text in the Lower Third with the Emphasis animation:

  1. Launch SongShow Plus
  2. From the main toolbar select Slide Properties.
  3. From here select the main projection Output Window and Media type you want to adjust.  In most cases this will be Presentation > All Media
  4. Locate and select the Song Text Layout Group.
  5. Once the Song Text Layout Group populates, select the Build Options tab.
  6. From the Render Lyrics setting, select the By Maximum lines per slide option.
  7. Ensure that the Use Emphasis animation option is checked.
  8. Set Maximum lines per slide to 2.
  9. Select the Lower Third projection Output Window and Media type you want to adjust.  In most cases this will be Lower Third > All Media
  10. Locate and select the Song Text Layout Group.
  11. Once the Song Text Layout Group populates, select the Build Options tab.
  12. From the Render Lyrics setting, select the By Maximum lines per slide option.
  13. Ensure that the Use Emphasis animation option is NOT checked.
  14. Set Maximum lines per slide to 2.
  15. Apply and click OK to close the Slide Properties.
  16. Project some songs to ensure that they are displaying as intended. If not, check both the Slide Properties settings and the Song Parts content for accuracy.

In some cases, when users are configuring multiple Output Windows, users want to get creative and try to set a different build option (i.e. By maximum lines per slide) for other displays that are supposed to be mirroring the main projection display.  This can be problematic and is not recommended.  In some cases, it will not work at all but worse is when it appears to work but is actually displaying the wrong parts of the song.

Refer to the SongShow Plus User Guide and search for Song Text Layout for more details about settings.

NOTE: It is important to remember that Slide Properties are available individually to each display type regardless of the configuration/output status.  This can be problematic for disparate settings like verse order or text layout build options if conflicting settings are applied. If identical behavior and aesthetics are desired in the synced display(s) as in the Source display, then ensure that no Slide Properties are overridden for the synced display(s).  This is most easily done by selecting the global Slide Properties for the synced display, right clicking the Property Groups header and selecting Override None.
