Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:
This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus

 * Ensure that you are using the most current build of SongShow Plus from the Download page for the best experience. *

Song use is an integral part of SongShow Plus and can be used to display song lyrics in a variety of configurations. The ability to edit, delete or in some cases hide songs (Stock ones) is important for good housekeeping of your song library.

Sometimes it is important to know how many songs you have available.  While there is not a more direct method to view this in the Songs panel there is a workaround that works very well.
This can vary depending on which databases you are interested in. As noted in other articles, there may be several.  By default, there are 3 that are included with SongShow Plus:

  • SongShow Plus
  • Stock Hymns
  • Christmas Carols

If you have and enable the SongShow Sync feature, you could have one or more others.  Most typically that will be the following:

  • Shared (this is a small database used for demonstration of the feature and is very small)
  • Corporate (this should be the one selected if you have the SongShow Connect service available)
  • There may be others if you have a legacy Connect setup. Contact support if you are not sure.
Checking the number of songs in each database.

  1. Launch SongShow Plus.
  2. From the Media Files > Songs tab select Create/Acquire > Database.
  3. Select the SongShow Plus option as the destination. (This is only to get past the dialog - we are not importing anything in this process)
  4. Once the import window opens, select the song database that you want to know the number of song in it.
  5. Depending on the selected database, the number of songs and the last time it was indexed, it may take a little time to populate the list.
  6. Once the list is fully populated, look at the bottom left corner of the song list for a label called Files - this is the number of songs in the selected database.
  7. Repeat this process for each available database if desired.
  8. Once complete, simply click Cancel to exit.

Training Videos - A video walk-through of this process may be available.  Depending on your current subscription level, you can go to the GoFishMedia website training page and log in with the same Customer ID and password that you use to log in to the SongShow Plus site or activate SongShow Plus. Review this article for more details.
