Online Bible and unicode text in SongShow Plus

The newer versions of Online Bible support unicode text but at this time SongShow Plus does not.  This can cause issues with certain bibles when using newer versions of OLB with SongShow Plus.

At this time we recommend using the non-unicode versions of Online Bible until SongShow Plus unicode support is complete.

Most of the Online Bible 3.xx versions use standard characters and can be used with SongShow Plus.  There does appear to be some exceptions as there was at least one late 3.xx version that supported unicode.

All of the Online Bible 4.xx versions support unicode and may have issues displaying certain characters in SongShow Plus.  While some text may display correctly, other text may not.  Some users have used the 4.xx versions without errors in some translations.


Currently we are aware that the following bible translations from Online Bible exhibit issues with unicode text:

• Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
• New American Standard Version (NASV)
• Amplified Bible (AMP)
