Publishing to Signage Player does not work from a Sync folder

Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:  
This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus and Signage

Symptom:
When publishing a slideshow to a player (DSD), the operation will complete but the content is not showing up as expected on the Digital Signage Device (DSD) presentation.

Possible Cause:
Currently, publishing content to Signage from a Synchronized folder is not supported. It will allow the publishing but will fail to display the content via the Signage  player and will put the player in a failed state.

Possible Solution:
To recover this failed state, re-publish content to the failed channel from a supported location and restart the Signage Player.
