SongShow Plus does not import all settings from prior version on initial installation of new version as expected

This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus 

  * Updates correcting this issue may be available. Ensure that you are using the most current build of SongShow Plus from the Download page before proceeding. * 

 NOTE: Skipping major numerical versions during the upgrade process will break the connection for the automatic copy of the configuration. Contact support if this occurs.

Symptom:
SongShow Plus does not import all settings from prior version on initial installation as expected. Normally on the first installation of a new version, the installer will import all of the settings from the prior version to preserve the Display settings/config and other user settings. (834)

Possible Cause:
This is most likely an issue with the current installer.

NOTE: At times, particularly with a major SongShow Plus update, the method used for storing and retrieving settings may change and in some cases the previous settings are no longer used, which may require the re-configuration of the Control Panel layout or other settings.

Possible Solution:
Manually reset the Display and Properties settings.  If a setting or configuration method was changed, this is the only way to restore the prior settings.

Possible Solution:
It may be possible to copy the old settings configuration files. Contact the support team for assistance with this.
