PTG - Slide Show or Program content from Package To Go uploaded to Drive is not working as expected - An Error Occurred or Item Not Found

5/26/2023

Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:
This article applies to SongShow Plus 8.5 to 9.0 using SongShow Drive

 * Updates correcting this issue may be available. Ensure that you are using the most current build of SongShow Plus from the Download page before proceeding. *

Symptom:
When working with Slide Show or Program content from Package To Go uploaded to Drive, user is not able to download or import content as expected. (1101)

  • When downloading from Drive in SongShow Plus the error "An Error Occurred" is presented and the content is not downloaded.
  • When importing from Drive from the Package Restore the error "Item Not Found" is presented and the content is not restored.
  • When trying to view the package from the web-based Drive the user gets an error - No files or directories.
  • When trying to view download the package from the web-based Drive the user gets an error - blank or page not found - nothing is downloaded.

Possible Cause:
This appears to be an issue with a back-end timing change that occurred starting in version 9.1.  This affected the communication between the servers and SSP 8.5 /9.0, causing the PTG content to be corrupted.

Possible Solution:
The solution is in two parts:

  • The back-end operations have been corrected to prevent new content from being corrupted.
  • To restore/repair the old content that is on Drive but not working.
    • If the old content is no longer relevant, users can simply delete the content in Drive. This will safely remove the content.
    • If the old content is still relevant, users can simply reprocess the PTG content making sure the name is exactly the same and it will package and upload the content, replacing the corrupted content.

REMINDER - it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that ALL Projection and Workstation machines have the same version of SongShow Plus installed and activated, preferably the most recent available version.
