Check For Updates fails - unable to run

Applicable SongShow Plus Versions: 
This article applies to versions 9.1 and earlier of SongShow Plus

Symptom:
When trying to complete an update installation through the Check for Updates tool, the user gets an error message indicating that the tool is unable to run and a second copy may be running. 

Possible Cause:
This is caused by an out-of-date updater file.  

Preferred Solution:
There are known issues with the Check for Updates tool in versions 9.1 and earlier - download the latest build from the website instead and install manually.  

If this does not resolve the issue, contact the Support Team.
