Version 7 > A note about subscription renewals

Some of you in this forum will have subscriptions that are expiring this month. I do trust that you will renew them! There is a change that you should be aware of. When you renew your subscription, you will be sent a new unlock code and/or license file. It is important that you install this new license on your machine to ensure that newer versions of SSP will work correctly when you install them.

For clarification, your SSP installation will not expire – SSP is not a subscription service. However, access to the upgrades will be subscription based which is why the unlock code will need to be refreshed at renewal time.

If things work as expected, after renewal, you will receive an email message that contains both a Code B and a license file. The license file is something new for SSP V7. It can be used in place of Code B. The license file will be easier for you to use. You simply copy it to your projection machine, right-click on the file, then select the Register License menu item. That’s all there is to it.

However, you can still use the “classic” Code B mechanism if you prefer. To use Code B, you will need to step through the unlock process using the unlock utility.

Please let me know you need any further clarifications or explanations.

Just waiting on the MD to submit a "Green Sheet" to the Secretary. Can you PM me with our specific date, or does it default to the end of the month.

I paid for our subscription renewal at our church (First Baptist, Savannah, MO) at the same time I bought a Kramer switcher/scaler a few weeks ago from Fowler.  I have not received any new unlock codes or such.  Any ideas when we will receive this?

Have you installed the new release of version 7?  If so when you unlocked it you already got your new code.  Otherwise, the next time you unlock SSP you'll receive the new codes.

They aren't sent out until you request them.

Thanks.  I haven't installed it on the projection machine yet.  Just using it on the workstations for now.  Will install when the final version is released.  any idea when that will be?

How can I find out when my Pro Modual subscription will expire?  On the old SongShowPlus web site, that information was available each time I logged in.  Why is not available now?

I am looking forward to the new enhancement of version 7 (working with version 5.5), but are upgrades going to require a DSL connection to be able to download version revisions?

Please advise

You can download the product to a different machine and convey it to the projection computer, via CD or memory key or what have you.

Thank you Joel for that re-assurance.   We started with Version 5.3 and I have been keeping it up to date by logging in and downloading the latest full installation (though Pro Modules - which is now on the SSPlash web site) where I have a broadband connection and using a memory stick to transport the file.

Thanks again.

I just recently realized that this information is not as accessible as it used to be. I'll see what I can do about that.

In the meantime, however, you can click on your name in the upper-right-hand corner, which takes you to the registration page. Enter your customer ID and church zip code. Then click Save/Update. After doing that, a message will be displayed that indicates when your subscription expires.

I have let my subscription lapse --- from mere procrastination. How do I renew or re-subscriben?

You can renew online, from the songshowplus website.

If you now go to songshowplus.com, click on Purchase/Renew, then click on Renew Subscription, you can enter your customer ID and zip code. Click Next and you will get a page showing your church information and when your subscription expires. If nothing is shown for the expiration, then it is expired.

How much does it cost to renew??? I couldn't find that info on the website.

If you have kept up with your promodule subscription, it costs $100.00 per year to renew it.  However, if you are a new customer, this is included with your initial purchase for the first year.

If you don't have a current promodlule membership, then it will cost $149.95 to upgrade from v5 and $199.95 to upgrade from v4 or previous. But only until September 1.

Check http://www.songshowplus.com/v7 and scroll clear to the bottom.

All churches that had an active ProModules On-line Memberships as of February 2006 are eligible for the V7 upgrade. This includes those that made a new purchase or have renewed their ProModules Online Membership subscriptions within the last year.

is this to the Basic Edition or the Professional Edition

Thanks
Joel

Since previous versions included the professional level functionallity and professional level pricing, I would think that the upgrade would be to the professional level product.

You could call SSP Sales to see for sure. (The 877 number is on that link).

I'm sure it would be the proedition since it was that way if you continued to renew your promodules.  If you did, you can upgrade with no fee.  If you did not continue your promodules subscription and let them expire, you will have to pay a fee.

Yes, Professional Edition.

I just purchased an upgrade from version 5.3 of SS+.  We had let our subscription lapse so I am ready to upgrade to Version 7.  I read this email before I run the download exe file,I'm just want to make sure that I have everything before I hit the button.  I received an email back as confirmation but it did not have an attachment.  Does the license file and code B come as an attachment.  Or is that the verification code listed.

Thanks,

Becky from CrossRoads Christian Church

After downloading and installing SSP 7, you will then step through the unlock process at that time.
