Feature Review: Tablet Stage Monitor
The mobile interface has been enhanced in the August 2011 Edition. One of the new features is a tablet-based stage monitor interface. This feature lets you use an iPad or other tablet device to see the text being presented on the display. For those of you who are considering the idea of using the stage monitor display feature of SongShow Plus (introduced in the June 2009 Edition), this new feature gives you another option to consider.
I hinted at this new feature when I mentioned that my wife and I were using it at a family camp. It turned out to be even more useful than I had hoped. My wife, who was leading the worship music, was able to clearly see the text of the song while also being assured that she and the congregation where both on the same verse. These are advantages over using a tablet device to simply view a chord chart PDF.
The stage monitor display and the tablet stage monitor are different. One obvious difference is that the former requires an additional display output on the projection machine and a cable run to devices on the platform. The later communicates to the projection machine through a wireless network. Also, the tablet stage monitor shows text only, whereas the stage monitor display will present images and slides.
If you want a stage monitor for lyrics, and haven't run cable yet -- consider using this new feature!

I posted this in another forum. Just wondering if there will be "an app for that" or if you will maintain the ip address idea. My digital yamaha board uses an app for ipad that allows me to just "click" the app instead of using the browser.
