SSP Best Practices - Downloading, Installing, Updating and Activating SongShow Plus

NOTE:  It is recommended that you update to the latest available version and build of SongShow Plus during this process. You must have a current subscription to do this.  If not already, sign in to your account with your SSP login credentials.  If you don't have them, refer to FAQ10. Once signed in, go to the Store page to renew or upgrade. 
This may resolve any issues you may be having and will ensure that you have all fixes and updates already available as well as giving a proper starting point for any new issues that you may encounter. 

In addition to the information noted in other articles, we make the following recommendations regarding downloading and installing SongShow Plus:

Below you will find information for installing and activating the latest version of SongShow Plus. Before you begin there are a few things that you can do to make this process easier and faster.

• Make sure you are logged in to Windows as a local administrator or have local administrator credentials.
• Temporarily disable any anti-virus or malware applications that are set to actively monitor or scan your computer (you may have more than one) as they can interfere with the installation process.
• A new version of SongShow Plus will not overwrite previous versions of SongShow Plus that have been installed on your computer. Version updates on the other hand will of course remove and update the current version build.  While it is not necessary to uninstall earlier versions, it is recommended you delete any old desktop icons and unpin shortcuts from your taskbar and start menu before proceeding.

  Update Existing Installation - Check for Updates 

There is a Check for Updates tool in your existing installation of SongShow Plus.
NOTE: There are known issues with the Check for Updates tool in versions 9.1 and earlier - download the latest build from the website instead.

 Downloading SongShow Plus

If not already, sign in to your account with your SSP login credentials.  If you don't have them, refer to FAQ10

1. Select the Download page.
2. Click the blue arrow next to the version you wish to download.  We always recommend using the latest version available to you for best results.
3. After the download completes click the file to begin the installation process.

 Installing SongShow Plus

1. In your Windows browser click Run to begin the installation process.
2. Click Agree to accept the software license agreement.
3. Click Next to continue the installation.
4. Click Finish to complete the installation.
